In 1966, Paul Van Doren and three partners opened their first store at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, California on March 16th. On the first morning, 12 customers came in, and #44, now known as AUTHENTIC, was born.
Designed by future legends Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta in 1976, the model now known as the ERA was released in padded and two-tone colors.
In 1982, SLIPON began to attract worldwide attention when Sean Penn wore them in the film "Fast Times At Ridgemont High." Then, in the 1990s, the brand made further strides in the skate scene, solidifying its position. Even today, the brand continues to be chosen by skaters and fashion enthusiasts in many countries.
