▼Model explanation <br>MAYHEM has brought the retro 1980s surfboard design back to life in this friendly free surfing model that is voluminous yet quick and maneuverable. The distinctive beak-shaped "beak nose" gives the board thickness all the way to the nose, making it a point nose design, but it also has the fast and easy paddle and takeoff performance of a round nose design board.
This board has a "semi-flat deck design" that provides excellent paddle and take-off performance, and the sharply cut "staple retro rail" responds directly to the rider's intentions, making it easy to put the rail into the water and turn. It was released in US CALIFORNIA first and quickly became a popular model of LOST surfboards, and is included in the LOST/MAYHEM masterpiece series. The hybrid design with a pointed nose and wide form makes it easy to ride in any wave.

It's not easy for LOST's Matt Biolos and co. to keep up with all the different models, but this year, with the Driver 2.0 and California Fish being popular, the Rad Ripper has become the most requested board. If the basic element of surfing is to have fun, this is the board that will provide that fun. The Rad Ripper is fast, easy, and retro with Biolos's favorite additions for a modern update. Most notably, it has increased tail rocker with a nice double barrel concave for more back foot control. "As a kid who surfed in the '80s, I was always fascinated by the ease of use of performance shortboards from that era," Biolos said. The Rad Rippe "has a slightly looser entry rocker, and we replaced the wide round tail that controls speed with a squash tail for more slipperiness and quickness for faster paddles and earlier entries."
Lost surfboard salesman and Nate Yeomans named the Rad Ripper as the most sought after in their field. "Demand for surfboards has been solid all year. The Rad Ripper is a great board," says Yeomans. "There were a lot of models and we introduced one that we thought was really good for us, and the Rad Ripper was that model. I don't know how Matt Biolos would rate it, but it's a great board." The Rad Ripper is not a board to ride at Desert Point. But how often do you ride at Desert Point? It's a great board for when you need a little extra inspiration to get wet or for daily sessions.
