Clark Foam suddenly announced its closure on the morning of Monday, December 5th, 2005, sending shock waves through the worldwide surf industry.

This incident came to be known as Black Monday, and various speculations and rumors circulated within the industry as to the reason for the closure, but the real reason was the legendary Blanks Company, said to be known only to Gordon Clark.
